later that same day...

after landing in sydney there was a one shop expedition to newtown with susanne to retrospect'd. bought myself a very pretty dress, which i shall wear as soon as it gets warmer... maybe months from now. :) but i have a list of clothes i now want to buy.

then it was down to the wharf to meet jamie for the...


we were running a little late and couldn't get into the session on "interrogating twitter" so we sat on the wharf and listened to it played over the speakers. there was a little sun and people watching to be had so i was happy with that.




that night we ended up at a korean restaurant where we were called "foreigners" and ordered way too much food because we didn't really know what we were ordering. we resorted to pointing at other tables saying we want something like that, and that and how about that.





i also kept on hitting the call button as it was under my left elbow. yes, we were the comic relief of the night.

enamoured with this town & season

a quick tram ride in and out of the city after work to visit with trish. a beautiful chilly twilight, with the wailing of protestors in one ear as we looked over fed square to the glorious flinders station. i do love melbourne.

9 pics and a song

this is what i need to complete my 36 photos. at a gig a couple of weeks ago, jill, jamie, mark and myself decided we would have a slides night where we would have to collate 36 photos (an old standard film roll) that would tell the story of our lives up to this point. 36 photos and a song.

i'm finding it harder than expected as there are years and months when the camera just wasn't present. and memory sketches are not acceptable. so it's challenging, but fun revisiting my past lives.

present life is still good, and to quote corey hart "my future's so bright...." you can finish the rest yourself (if you're of the appropriate age, or a sucker for bad 80s tunes). ;)

it's really funny that we all know this but still have problems avoiding falling into the trap time and time again. why do we choose to keep falling? weird things aren't we?

a treat

took in a gold class movie this afternoon with jill, mark and jamie. yep, recliner seats and food brought to you through the film. life is good. and so was the film. i enjoyed the escapism and humour.

meet the scene

this dance is held once a year and tends to be mostly for those who are new to the swing scene in melbourne (hence the name). i went along this year to support my friend nat who is now in one of the performance troupes for swing patrol called brat pack. the new team were making their debut so i was there to cheer her on.




and today jacob turned 14. eek!! jake's my brother's eldest son, stop growing up will you? i have. ;) happy birthday jake.
