perth to kalgoorlie

took me a little longer than usual. it's only around 598km but i took about 6 and a half hours. i was taking photos along the way.

let's see... left just after 7am when gail kicked me out of the balmoral house. marija showed up to see me off as well.

i'll be including many shots from the road over the next few days. trying to give you a taste of the country as i drive across.

meckering is a town known for an earthquake that hit in october 1968. but also for this strange photography museum building, someone with a passion i guess.

this is the kellerberrin postoffice. the best thing about travelling through small towns are the beautiful buildings that are still standing. i hope they're never pulled down.

merredin has this water tower in the middle of town. and i was driving around looking for the lawn bowls club (i'll tell you about that fetish later) and came across this fantastic theatre.

coolgardie has had this house on the corner for as long as i can remember.

more cool buildings around coolgardie.

then onto kalgoorlie-boulder. you can just see the city on the horizon.

this is the boulder town hall.

this is my great grandmother's house in boulder, it's been renovated since goona lived there. i used to stay over when i was little and i always remember it being this shadowy place.
