a bit of shopping was on the agenda this morning. julie had to return something at jo-anns, a fabric and craft store and so i wandered through the fabrics and patterns. big mistake. not because i ended up buying half the store, only one pattern and 2 yards of cotton. the problem was the line... oh the line. it became a bit of a joke in the end. when i walked up to take a number the counter was on 42, i was 59... and i waited and waited. it was like a bit of a marathon truth be told. all the other waitees and i were joking, cheering each other on (maybe i led the charge) and then when they finally called my number i half-jogged over to the counter with my fabric waving in the air. it was a happy moment. of course that was just to cut the fabric into the length i required, i then had another queue to stand in to pay for it. yes, that is about 45 minutes i will not get back. ;)
after that julie drove me by sunnydale high (for those of you who watch buffy). it's actually torrance highschool, not far from where julie and vince used to live.
and yes, you guessed it, on to lunch. this was a great italian place called eatalian. huge warehouse that was turned into a restaurant with the most amazing tasting pasta. we finished with gelati and i also snaffled some cannoli to take home. mmm..
we passed by this place - just had to get a picture. anyone interested??
we watched a "football" game in the evening, oregon ducks versus ucla bruins. ducks thrashed the bruins. i know more now than when the game began but still...
off to chicago tomorrow.
